Jollibee’s 35th Birthday in Cebu
Jollibee turned 35 last September 28.
Age is only in the mind for this big jolly red fella so he threw kiddie parties in 35 select branches all over the Philippines including the Jollibee Cebu-Parkmall branch here in just one day.
Lance and I were lucky to be invited to the must-go children’s party of the year.
The venue was jam-packed with kids when we arrived. The white screen at the center shows a live stream of the main event at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila hosted by Jollibee celebrity endorsers Sarah Geronimo and Sam Concepcion.
Part of the program in Manila is to show the parties in Cebu including the other selected branches nationwide hence, the quick pre-production exercise:
While waiting for the event to start, some kids played games.
Us, on the other hand, played with the camera. Us means me, Lance, my mom, Mareng Ephy, and the now so grown-up Keith Tyler who I’ve known since he was one.
Lance, as the first baby blogger per Cebu Bloggers Society founder Mark Monta, is scribbling notes in his ice cream during the pocket press conference with the media and bloggers. Good job, Lance!
Finally got to meet Jhanis a.k.a Missus V of the Vanilla Housewife. Yay! 🙂 I also met Missus V’s better counterpart Curly. 😛 She’s really cute. We used to check out each other’s blogs and it’s really great to see each other in person.
Lance was getting bored and fussy wanting to cross the other side of the road to St. James amusement park until these celebrities came:
Lance can’t believe his eyes. Jollibee is finally here! He was starstruck for a moment.
You’d know how big a star Jollibee is with all the frenzy of kids and kids at heart! 😀
Everyone was requested to move away a bit to give space for some dancing.
To which in Lance’s view:
Looks like: Peek-A-Boo! Of course, my little boy was sooo delighted. 🙂
Back to frenzy.
Here are my attempts to getting Keith a great photo with Jollibee.
And my only decent shot:
Sorry Keith. Your tita is such a loser. Just imagine me doing something like this:
After some waiting, Lance finally got to get close again with Jollibee but he won’t pose with him.
Lance just loves to look and stare at Jollibee’s big blinking eyes.
Until he got tired from all the pushing, shouting and shoving as some kids try to get close with the birthday celebrant. So we went outside.
A few minutes later, Jollibee spotted us!
And finally got to pose with him. 🙂
It was fun and happy.
Thank you, Jollibee!
‘Til next year. 😉
